I've been trying to make bread for a while now.
I've tried to do the 24 Hour Bread, I've tried the 5-minutes a day bread...
and there have been some good ones...
I'd say that I've succeeded here and there a bit, but nothing that GREAT.
Until yesterday. I just decided, sometimes that's what it takes - for everything, right?
SO, I whipped out Laurel's Kitchen and went right for it. I made a yogurt bread and it is great.
I didn't use whole wheat flour, I went with some of my All Purpose wheat, some cornmeal, and Bob's Unbleached WHITE flour. Settle down now, I know white flour, but Aaron likes it and apparently so do I. Although next time I will try for more whole graineyness.

I'll keep you posted! oh. and there WERE rolls.
a lot of them. now there are only 4 left...
THAT'll happen!
here's a recipe!
dissolve 2 1/4 t. yeast in 1/2 c. warm water
flour mix: 4c. ubl. white flour + 1c. all purpose wheat flour + 1++c. cornmeal+ 1T salt.
add 2/3 c. yogurt, 1/4 c. oil, 3T Honey to 2 1/4 c. warm water.
whisk flour mix, add wet ingredients to flour, adjust using cornmeal.
knead!!! I added cornmeal & flour while kneading.
let rise, deflate & rise again...
turn onto board, cut in half, let rest.
cut one half into many little rolls, put on parchment lined baking sheet.
shape loaf and put in buttered pan.
bake at 350. 20 minutes for rolls, 50 for bread.

uh...something missing? recipe?
yumm -- looks fantastic. Sounds like you've found a recipe you can play with as far as grains are concerned. Save your bacon grease and sub it in for your oil next time... heaven!
I've used this recipe and really like it http://foodiefarmgirl.blogspot.com/2006/11/oatmeal-toasting-bread-baking.html
I can't wait to try some. does it make good toast?
the toast is amazing.
I am waiting on some now.
