Well they are here. Calves.
Four of them - to me they look like they are at LEAST a month old,
it turns out the oldest is 2 weeks!
That's right - they are Holsteins, and hence the confusion or miscalculation.
Jersey babies are SO much smaller than these massive beasts.
I think they are doing perty well, they all ate last night and this morning
and I expect that will continue!
It's nice to be out in the barn again... except that David doesn't like it!!!
this is a tragedy of certain proportions which hopefully will be overcome soon.
He's just got to get used to it, there's no choice in the matter.
In the morning Aaron stays with him while I go out, but in the afternoon it will be our job together to feed them calvies!!! Here's hoping it works right out.
I think he'd rather be inside banging on the pots and pans -
which I gave him for the first time this week... too funny.

It is so fun to see him without a hat on! That boy is always so covered up in your pictures.
So give us more back story -- why are you having to raise the cows? Isn't it too early for calves? Are you bottle feeding them and how long will that last?
look at that face!!! love it!
