Well it really feels like summer when it's 80 degrees out and I'm cooking lunch for the CSA crew.
It was great to be back in the kitchen. I forgot how roomy and cool that kitchen is. Which is great, because it was like a surprise!
Things seem to be moving right along for the Driftless Organics Crew and I am happy to play a small role in their day. OK - so really I am pretty sure it is HUGE that they get fed twice a week (three days as soon as there is veggies to cook with!) I had SO much fun doing it last year and I am really glad that they asked me to come back. I am pretty sure that I will be able to cook for a bit longer than I'll want to milk cows and I will also be able to happily go back to cooking before(if) I go back to milking.
All this being said.... Please check out their website!
They have a great new blog too!
AND my friend Mike is now raising GrassFed Beef and selling it through Driftless...
If any of you TwinCitians are looking for good food for the summer, Driftless really can't be beat. Great vegetables AND awesome people.... who employ ME!
OH - in case anybody wants to know.
Today for the first meal I made:
Pesto Rice with a Asparagus, morel, and spinach cream sauce with roasted sweet and spicy parsnips on the side.
it was awesome.
