It's greening up around here!

HI!
Happy rainy day to you! We were blessed by a great lightening show last night, reminding us of just how different it really is to live in the midwest. We were actually on a drive to and from Lansing Iowa where we went to catch a delightful dinner on the Mississippi. Luckily the drive was awesome, because dinner was not. Hey - did you know that if you drive to the end of Main street in Lansing you end up in the river!? It's true, and nothing but a skinny line of wire to keep ya from it. watch out!
When we got home we stood at the top of the drive and looked at lightening, it was great. It didn't rain too much then, but this morning we woke to a soaker - which is SO great. soon we'll plant the garden, but for now we are just glad the oats get a drink and all the farmers can rest easy!
It's SO fun to be in a place for the first spring. We are so blessed and are reminded of that everytime something new pops up! And of course I am SO excited about the lilacs!!!

I am really wondering what to do about this horrible beast which has had a milliion children and doens't look like it will stop till the whole place is taken over... any thoughts?

I was delightfully surprised by this flowering bush! I never knew that was what would happen. Maybe it's a type of cherry? oh it's SO fun.
The best part is that there is more to come!
