35 feels PRETTY GOOD!

I had a big birthday last week and this weekend we celebrated with a party.

It was really more like a small gathering, but I was pretty excited about it.

So much so that I made a fancy cake involving three days

and a lot of lemon curd...

I decorated with daffodils and springy branches, it was a very Martha event.

It made me happy.

To psych myself out when asked how big the party would be I responded-

"Probably only three people will show up."

Somehow it makes me feel better when I do this,

because I have had those kinds of parties before.

Or the Thanksgiving where I was the only one... it was ok!

Last night was great and there was a very nice group of people here

and we all had a really good time!

I wish that I was more of a picture taker sometimes,

but I think I am over event photography for myself...

I got a few pics of the cake process and that was awesome.

Everyone really enjoyed it and for me one of the best parts

was serving it on the wedding china dessert plates...

that made it feel really special.

I was blessed by some great gifts from near and far!

One that I am really excited about is a print from our friend Nick Wroblewski.

We've really been needing some art for the house and I am delighted that it is THIS!

I love Nick's work. It has everything a block cut print should and some interesting details too!

Can't wait for a frame and to have it on the wall!
