When we got home Max and Hercules made GOOD friends and we were SO relieved! But then they thought it would be fun to run off together. We chased them for a while and then Max just ran too far. We were pretty sure he had never run like THAT before!
We called 3 different sheriff's offices, 3 animal shelters and 2 radio stations! We were SO sad that Max hadn't come back yet.
For the next few days we tried to keep Max on a leash and take him out as much as possible. Somehow he always ended up escaping! One day I came home from work and wondered why my porch seemed heated, Max had gotten the kitchen door open and ran! Hercules is already a bit of a runner and we decided that he does not need ANY encouragement from a new dog.
So we had to send Max back to the Cities. We were sad to see him go, 'cause he and Herc were like BROTHERS man.
It made me think, wow, what if there are BROTHERS.... I don't think I am having twins. But I know people who do and are, and wow. that's a lot of work for a mama.
SO - Thanks to everybody who helped with the Max story! We pray that Max is happy in his new home and we are glad that we could help him have the run of his LIFE.
ALSO - say a little prayer for Mama Tara, who HAS twin boys age 4 (cute and trouble - they change names moment to moment) and is 32 weeks with little sister and on "bed rest".
Oh yeah - and then we went for a really nice ski and I didn't fall once even though I went down a big hill!
